A watch for men can be the ultimate accessory but there are some things that can hinder your watch wearing experience.

Here are 5 watch wearing mistakes to avoid.

1 Wearing the incorrect dial size

We have all been guilty of this one, companies in general are making watch dials smaller but if you have a small wrist then the general rule is to wear watches that are proportional to your wrist.

Wearing a watch that is too big for your wrist highlights how small your wrist is and conversely if you have a large wrist wearing a watch too small can look a little off also.

For us, the smaller wrist brigade a dial from 35 to 41 inches would fit nicely, for the larger wrists 39 to 44 inches would be right up your street.

This one piggy backs on point one but A loose watch will slide around your wrist, causing discomfort and making it difficult to read the time quickly.

Another issue is excessive movement that can cause scratches or wear on the watch itself. If it’s too loose, it might even fall off and get damaged or lost.

More than that a well-fitting watch enhances your overall appearance, while a loose one can look sloppy and unprofessional.

On the flip side wearing a watch that is too tight can also be an issue.

Wearing a watch too tight can cause immediate discomfort and pain due to pressure on your wrist.

In general your watch should be worn above the wrist bone, snug so it does not move around but not too tight it is uncomfortable

This one is somewhat subjective, but it is important to know your own personal style, are you more sporty, dressy, or maybe something in-between?

If you are on the sportier side, will you be happy to wear a more dressier watch for your daily activities or vice versa if you are more on the smarter side will a Casio suit your style?

Not wearing a watch that suits your lifestyle can also make you feel uncomfortable and there’s nothing worse than wearing a watch you just do not feel comfortable in.

That is not to say you should not try new watches you never know what you might discover.

4 Wearing a leather strap in the heat

When the weather heats up wearing a leather strap can be an issue.

Excessive exposure to moisture and heat can degrade the quality of the leather, causing it to lose its suppleness and appearance.

Leather tends to absorb sweat, staining, and accelerated wear. It might also cause the strap to become brittle and crack over time.

In high temperatures, leather can feel sticky and uncomfortable against your skin, especially if it gets wet.

Opting for a more breathable and moisture-resistant material, such as silicone or fabric, can be a better choice in hot weather.

5 Wearing your watch on your dominant wrist

Wearing your watch on your dominant wrist has very few benefits.

The constant movement and use of your dominant hand can cause the watch to move around more and become uncomfortable.

Your dominant hand is usually more active and exposed to more impacts, which can lead to scratches, bumps, and other damage to your watch.

Tasks that require precision or extensive use of your dominant hand, such as writing, might be hampered by a watch.

It’s usually best to wear your watch on your non-dominant wrist to avoid these issues and keep your watch safe and comfortable

Obviously, this a personal choice and do whatever you feel comfortable with but the benefits of wearing your watch on your non-dominant wrist do outweigh wearing on your dominant wrist.
